Common Problems and Solutions
1. Server Error (command failed)
Cause: Not run as admin - windows 7 and vista OS.
Solution: Exit Xtream VPN > Right click Xtream VPN desktop icon > Run as administrator or
Right click Xtream VPN desktop Icon >> Properties >> Compatibility >> Check - Always Run as Administrator then double click Xtream VPN
2. Auth incorrect
Cause: invalid/ non existent account/wrong username password combination/ expired account, bandwidth limit exceeded.
Solution: Make sure you type the correct username and password (case sensitive). Contact your reseller to check your account, renew your account or register a new account.
3. Restarting (@ 1st connection attempt)
Cause: the connection is dropped. it will give restarting error once connected.
Solution: Reconnect your dashboard and connect to Xtream VPN again. Optional: Close any apps that requires internet connection at start up like torrent and IM software.
3. Always Restarting (inactivity timeout)
Cause: your isp/network is unreachable or unstable.
Solution: Check your network connectivity. Most of this problem is ISP related.
4. Connection Process Halted (up to UDPV4 link remote only)
Cause: server down or the firewall is blocking the connection.
Solutionn: Add to Exclusion or disable Windows Firewall and disable antivirus.
5. Certificate not yet valid
Cause: time at date of the device is not set correctly.
Solution: Set the correct value of system date.
6. Address Already in Use
Cause: tap adapter or listening port is not available
Solution: disable/enable your tap adapter under devices in network and sharing. If your using ICS please disable ICS prior to connecting. If the problem persist change the Listening Port value
7. Connected but can't browse
Cause: Routing problem.
Solution: If your using tcp, reconnect the vpn once connected. Other solution is to run it as admin and disable antivirus firewall and Windows firewall.
8. Can't connect to Garena and other Online Games
Solution: Roll back your TAP Driver to version 9.0.0.7 . Make sure you have the September 23 update. Go to Xtream VPN >> Settings >> Tap Driver >> Remove >> Add
9. Program Failed to Start
Solution: Make sure you have MS .NET Framework 2.0 installed. Windows Vista and 7 has built in .net 3.5 so it will run without any problem.
note: Microsoft .NET framework 4 is a Standalone. it doesn't include version 3.5 and below
